When a home is full of vintage finds

When a home is full of vintage finds, the whole vibe of the interior gets a magical vibe of ages. I admire those people who have the talent to harmonize an interior’s design with vintage pieces. I think it’s pretty challenging to find the right furniture on flea markets and still keep the red line in the apartment.

This 64 sqm apartment in Stockholm has this special vibe, with the earthy brownish tones, with the fluffy carpet in the living room, with the glass elements, like the chandelier and flower vase on the coffee table, and of course the vintage furniture, everything seems so appropriate together. The owners put every piece so well together. I love the dining area with all the second-hand Thonet chairs and greenery. The kitchen’s focal point is the small balcony with a view of the main street. What a lovely way to have breakfast in the fresh air!

The bathroom totally amazed me with its French vintage design, I particularly like the red and white floor tiles combined with the chic bathtub. The hallway’s design is boosted with the famous William Morris wallpaper which gives a super stylish feeling to the space. Got inspired already? See you next week with another inspirational article.

A light apartment with eclectic chandeliers

I will always envy those interiors that have wall-to-wall, floor-to-top windows letting the abundance of daylight in. Nothing can compete with natural light, and this apartment’s owners paid great attention to restoring and repainting all the windows during renovation. The 3 room home became a light interior with air design, combining simple lines with eclectic elements. The stove from the living room is the ultimate winner next to the chandelier that is the bulletproof focal point of the place. I particularly love the fluffy carpet and the simple ceiling ring, what an elegant element to be added to the place. The Coffee Table by Vitra. is a classic piece designed by Isamu Naguchi in 1944 and now

From the living room, you can go to the dining room, a pretty specious one I must say, boosted up with a great glass cabinet for books (a great idea to keep your books away from dust) and a gorgeous ficus lyrata. The bedroom is accessible from this dining room and it harmonizes with the living room having another eclectic chandelier and the same amount of natural light.

The kitchen follows the “less is more” principle by having simple, white cabinetry with minimalistic silver handlers. I love the reading nook next to the window, it’s the perfect spot where to hop in with a coffee and a good book. If you’ve read The Little Book of Hygge, you know why Nordic people are paying such great attention to building up a nook on the window sill.

As usual, in Swedish apartments, the bathrooms are always simply designed. This turned out to be a nice combination of natural stone floor tiles and simple white wall tiles.

The apartment is for sale, it has 3 rooms plus the kitchen, having 86 m² in total. From the living room, there is a small terrace to get some fresh air and to stay close to nature. I hope you got inspired by this tour, and in case you live in Gothenburg, do not hesitate to check it out by booking a real tour here.

A charming attic apartment with tower room

Creativity on how to utilize spaces and the styling of interiors in Sweden is limitless and priceless. Alvhem is one of my favorite real estate agencies whose work I admire a lot. They usually style their interiors with Grey Deco Interiors, and I would move in into any of the houses styled by them, regardless if it’s a one-room apartment, a 3 bedroom interior, a house, or a villa. I love every single piece of their work, impeccable style, color palettes, furniture, originality, etc. you name it, they have it all.

This attic apartment is a 3.5 rooms interior with an open kitchen to the living room, having a tower room, and an all-day sunny rooftop terrace. The view from this apartment is incredible thanks to the next-door neighbor of the Slottsskogen central park of Göthenburg, Sweden. The building dates back to 1902 which gives a charming feeling for the whole interior. It’s on the 6th floor of the building, but an elevator is available, so no issues in this department 😉

The dining room is surrounded by a curvy bookshelf and a lot of daylight thanks to the turn-of-the-century windows. The dining chairs are the Series 7 by Arne Jacobsen, and the pendant light above the table is a Viscontea by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni. What a luxury having a working fireplace and a walk-in wine fridge next to the floating stairs.

From the open kitchen, you can walk into the bedroom. I love the vintage desk combined with the Drop Chair designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen. From this small bedroom, you can go out to the rooftop terrace, a small one but a cozy one for real. What can you want more? Fresh air, sitting area, and a great view. Bring out your cappuccino and enjoy life.

The tower room is a real focal point in this apartment. It’s a combination of working space and leisure. The home office corner has some great vibes due to the vintage decoration. The beam pillars take you back to the beginning of the 20th century giving a historical feeling of this place.

The top floor’s bedroom is a nude, earthy tones room (I love the wall’s color) having its focal point at the Gong Arche Silk ceiling light above the bed.

This apartment was for sale last year, and of course, it’s sold. No wonder why…most certainly the new owner is one hell of a lucky person purchasing this wonderful place. I hope, I inspired you by this beautiful apartment, see you next week with a new charming home tour.

A Swedish interior for a fresh start

Let’s start with something fresh, like a bright Swedish apartment. I don’t do new year’s resolutions, I’m too old for that shit, but I try to find something that motivates me and inspires me. Blogging relaxes me, even if this is a few hours of work every week. It’s good for my soul, so continuing this it’s the best new year’s resolution I can have.

This 3 rooms apartment is a perfect trigger to continue loving Nordic interiors and to get inspired on how to combine old with new (look at those ceilings). The large windows let the natural light flow through the whole apartment, and removing the wall between the kitchen and living room made everything even lighter. This way it was possible to create the dining area between the kitchen and living room, assuring a great socializing spot. I love the vintage floor lamp and the gallery wall around the tv, the subtle bohemian touches like the rattans armchair and ceramic decorations add an extra style to the whole room.

The kitchen is a 100% Scandinavian kitchen. The cabinets, the handles, the light grey color, the built-in electronics, the glass lightings, and the oak floor are the bulletproof elements of this style.

This small room with a balcony turned out to be a combination of home office and leisure. The day bed with the powder pink bedding and the wall art hanging above it are a nice colorful touch in this room. I love the vintage desk and the wall art with cranes. The rug adds an extra texture to the room.

Simplicity always wins. I admire the Scandinavians for finding the simple white tiles so delightful. It’s the simplest way of having a clean design in your bathroom. Good old days when this tile was the trendiest one 🙂

And there is no Swedish apartment without a balcony; connection to outside/nature is mandatory for Swedish people. They learned to love and take in everything that Mother Nature tries to give us.
This lovely 73 sqm apartment is in Linnéstaden, Göthenburg, it has 2 bedrooms and an open living room combined with the kitchen, 2 balconies, and storage space in the attic of the building. It was renovated in 2018 when the beautiful oak parquet was restored too. It has a fresh, clean Scandinavian design, so do not hesitate to get inspired by this interior.

Happy New Year dear reader!

A bright apartment with a cute bathroom

When searching for inspiration for my blog, sometimes it happens that I find interiors where I love everything. This is the case with this 48 sqm Stockholm-based apartment too, I love every corner of it. The white Scandinavian Shaker Kitchen with its doors made of solid pine and painted with linseed oil is a timeless design that will “resist” as a strong focal point in the world of interior design. Those tiny golden buttons totally convinced me to love this bright kitchen. The open shelves go hand in hand with the pine floors and add a natural tone to the place. It might be funny, but what I love the most is the radiator, what a great vintage piece. I hate nowadays radiators, we have the same in our house, but they are ugly as hell.

What a nice idea of combining a small desk with the bedroom, turning the home office into a cozy corner. The white drawer is an Ikea piece, with golden handles/buttons that make the whole furniture much nicer than the original one. We have it too in our bedroom, but we kept it with the black buttons, now I wonder, maybe it would be a good idea to change those. The beige office chair is from Ikea too, totally fitting into the natural tone of the room. The walls are painted into transparent pink from Jotun‘s Lady Collection.

This is the sweetest, the tiny little bathroom I’ve recently seen on the world wide web. If this house would be empty, having only the bathroom, I would be totally into it to buy it. The kitchen is a great extra, a real beauty too, but when I saw the bathroom I knew, I must share this on my blog. Nothing kitschy, with its simplicity combined with a touch of pink (I bet you didn’t observe the top line of pink tiles 😉 ), this bathroom with its bathtub is everything you need. It’s the definition of coziness.

As usual, there is an outdoor space too, a small terrace to get some fresh air and let the natural light flowing into the apartment. Tiny spaces never scare away Swedish people, they can turn these into some hygge corners. This small terrace is a nice spot to have a glass of wine at night staring at the stars or having a cup of coffee in the morning sunbath. Either way would work for me.
This apartment was for sale for a few days, but till I managed to get some time to write my blog post, boom, it got solved. Anyhow, admire it as it’s a great source of inspiration.

A beautiful apartment with a dark red thread

One of the basic interior design rules is to use a red thread through an apartment/house. This can be either a color, a style, an element that is recurring in every room of the interior. The idea is to assure continuity by connecting the rooms through this red thread. This week I’m choosing a home tour with a dark red thread. Although I’m not very into dark colors and dark interiors, there are quite a few that captured my attention in the past.

This 67.6 m2 apartment in Göteborg has a calm vibe due to the dark elements here and there. The living room’s focal point is definitely the dark tiled stove and the 3m high ceilings that let the room shine in its entirety. I spot a Ghost chair at the dining table that mixes styles boldly. The dark marble coffee table adds a dramatic feel to the area.

The apartment’s structure is kind of circular, from the living room you can go to the kitchen, and behind the kitchen is the bedroom from where you can end up in the dining area. I love the glass shelf system that lets prevailing some nice ceramics.

The kitchen is simply marvelous with the minimalistic lines of matte cabinetry design by Kvik. The limestone countertop is a winner of the whole place. I like to industrial window solution that lets the natural light flowing in through the bedroom. What a great trick of solving the lack of a real window.

The bedroom is simple, but it has it all, style, store, simplicity, elegance, you name it. The bottom-to-top closet has a lot of storage space without making the room crowded. The ceiling light is one of Gong’s masterpieces, the MO-003S- Benitier Silk Ceiling. I discovered this brand recently, and ever since I love all their lightings. Leaving the double doors unfinished adds a great contrast to the place.

And as I mentioned many times, outdoor spaces are super important to Swedish people, so this apartment has a tiny balcony too making sure that the lucky owner can go out getting some fresh air while admiring Skansen Kronan and Skansberg.
